Grave Site of

Capt. Patrick Knox
(b. c1750 - d. June 1780, NC)

Patrick Knox, resident of Mecklenburg County, NC, was killed in the Battle of Ramsour's Mill and
buried on the "southern eyebrow of the battlefield" in present-day Lincolnton, Lincoln County, NC.
He shares a common tomb with four of seven Whig Captains who, with unfailing loyalty
gave their lives that June day in 1780, for the cause of American Independence.

This grave site was restored in 1955 by the Jacob Forney Chapter, NSDAR, Lincolnton, NC
